Forty raised beds, one greenhouse wall, and a strict rule that nobody gardens alone on Saturdays. The rooftop garden is Marlowe Point’s happiest square footage — and it runs on neighbors, not staff.
Residents claim a half or full bed each March through the portal; soil, compost, water, and tools are included. First-timers are paired with a garden mentor for the season, and the shared herb spiral belongs to everyone — snip what you need for dinner.
Monthly workshops cover container tomatoes, pollinator planting, composting in small spaces, and fall garlic. Kids get their own low bed and a summer sunflower contest with genuinely fierce competition.
Surplus harvest goes to the lobby share shelf every Sunday, and the season closes with the rooftop harvest dinner in the event lounge — long tables, string lights, and a menu built from what we grew.
